Building the Future in Angola

“ Angola, despite its tragic history, has the potencial to become one of the most prosperous countries on the African continent, if it is able to effect the reconstruction and transformation of its national economy. To achieve this, Angolans will have to consolidate peace and greatly expand the reconsiliation now incipiently underway. Angola will need a government with a strategic vision, and generous international support. Its ability to implement structural transformation is inhibited, in the short term, by a range of troubling human, institutional, economic and financial shortcomings. How to actualise this potential and rise above the constraints, so as to transform Angola into fully democratic and prosperous country, capable of making itws proper contribution to the development of all of Southern África, is the principal question that this book seeks to address. “
